Follow Up - Network Marketing Business

There seems to be some confusion about follow up in your network marketing business. 

 

Some people join a business or opportunity believing that they don’t have to pick up the phone or talk to anyone.  While in most cases this can be true, I think back to my corporate days and everything I learned about how important it is to follow up with clients and customers.

 

 

It’s great that we have this digital world and the leverage of the internet to sell our products, services and programs without really having to talk to anyone.  However, if you are in a network marketing business and are building a team so you can help others achieve their goals, then the ability to follow up and talk to others will require some real one on one interaction. 

 

Follow up by talking to people on the phone, 
on skype or dropping them a quick email to
answer their questions and concerns.

 

There are going to be different situations which will depend on how you interact or follow up in your network marketing business.  So if you have the right mindset of serving others, helping people to get what they want will actually help you and your business as well.

Tamyka Washington:  “I ALWAYS respond to people with questions, that's part of what we do...help them get going! Most times, they just need to be pointed in the right direction. But if needed, I have no problem hoping on the phone or skype!

Ryan Boyce: “No matter what i would reply, help out. being able to deal with a questions or concern whether its negative or positive is something that we will have to deal with at some point. Should get used to it and get good at it. Its all about networking”.

 

Sue White:  “I think there are two issues here: 1) ethical responsibility and 2) Empowering vs. enabling. Is the question something they should already know? Even if the answer is covered in one of our training courses ... do they have a clue where to find it? Are they getting conflicting information from multiple different sources? ... I could go on and on ... But, I think the basic answer is: It depends ... but we do have an ethical responsibility to help the people who paid us money & became our customers.” 

 

Rafael Velez: “I believe to use sound judgment when dealing with individuals who seem to ask a lot of questions. Remember we are building this business to create more time and freedom for ourselves and our love ones. Difference between help and babysitting...choose wisely!”

Just recently, I saw a statistic that more than 90% of new network marketing business owners fell short in making any type of cash online.

 

On top of that, many of these situations fall out in the initial two months of beginning their business. These network marketing businesses included affiliate marketing, email marketing and marketing their own products via social networking.

 

 

Personally I just jumped into the network marketing business a little over 18 months ago.  I was pretty amazed at seeing this high statistic but wasn't too surprised.  You probably know some fellow network marketers come and go as well.  I'm sure you know many people that have been on weight loss programs and never achieved their goal weight. 

 

And how many people do you know that said they wanted to be a successful entrepreneur but have never taken any action?  

 

Having success in network marketing business is no different when it comes to achieving personal success.  

 

It takes a clear vision, self-belief, determination and dedication with a 'can do' attitude rather than giving up only after 60 days or less. 

 

 

Compare any goal that you want to achieve whether it be in losing weight, learning a new language, joining a multi-level marketing group or being your own entrepreneur in network marketing company or selling your own products. 

 

Having the right knowledge and skills to achieve your goals is necessary.  And another aspect that most new network marketing business owners set aside, and do not take seriously enough is their personal development.  Working on yourself builds the internal self-belief, confidence and the ability to be open to learning, growing and being around others with the same positive mindset and visions.

 

Let's go over a couple of things that have kept me motivated and staying in the game of my network marketing business:

 

Recognize the Odds For Success

 

There are those people that will say "I will certainly attempt it or try" or they will say "I wish to be successful", rather than thinking and believing they will succeed and will do whatever it takes to do so.  So why do so many people have this lack of self-belief?  It is because in their heart they still have questions and doubt instead of having certainty and self-belief. 

 

This is the main reason for working on our personal development which give us much better odds of staying in the game.  There is a certain amount of risk not only in the network marketing business but in any business venture you may be involved with. 

 

That risk can be lessened with greater knowledge of the industry, the program, your products and your marketing audience.  Couple that with your personal self-belief will certainly help you to beat the odds.

 

 

Having a Good Mentor

 

Get to know your industry, the leaders that have similar vision and other significant network marketers that you have a good rapport with.  Then you will be able to search out for good mentors that have actually already built an effective network marketing business. 

 

A mentor can be a great source of inspiration, motivation and provide you with information that can help you to achieve your goals and success on a much faster timeline than trying to do it alone.  A mentor will be an important guide and help to lead you in getting your business started on the right track. 

 

A good mentor has many years more experience and knowledge, have gone through most of the pitfalls and can certainly help to minimize those same traps so you don't fall into them.  Keeping you, once again, in the game!  

 

Make Some Realistic Short Term Goals

 

When I initially started out in this company I'm currently in, I have been lucky to have incredible leadership and mentors that helped me to establish my major definite purpose, objectives and my short term goals.  I set my first short term goal to accomplish $2000 regular monthly revenue within 6 months’ time.  After achieving that goal, I revisited my objectives and adjusted them, creating new short term goals but always staying on course with my major definite purpose and keeping my vision clear. 

 

I think too many people either don't set short term goals because they only want to see 'the big picture' or they set unrealistic short term goals which they would never be able to accomplish.  This just causes frustration, lack of focus and eventually giving up. 

Instead, sit down right now with no distractions start thinking about your vision, your major definite purpose and write them out along with some short term goals that you can achieve.

 

 

Look, success is a choice and it is a decision that we make each and every day.  Make excuses and you will kill your dreams for success and getting what you want.  It will kill your motivation to stay in the game. 

 

Instead, stay motivated by doing some of the things I mention above.  Think about the person you are today and who you want to become tomorrow.  Know that what you decide doesn't have to have anyone’s approval but your own. 

 

Network marketing business is an awesome industry.  I wouldn't want to do anything else at this point.  So knowing how important to keep motivated in this industry, will certainly help you to be one step above the rest! 

 

Keep inspired, stay motivated and stay
in the game. That's all that matters.

Mentor vs. Sponsor

 

I have a question for you.  Is there a difference between a mentor vs. sponsor?  I believe there is and I wanted to share some things that may help others that might be misinformed when it comes to a mentor vs. sponsor.

 

A sponsor is not your mentor, generally speaking.  If you are being sponsored into a company, program or business by someone, that doesn’t mean they are automatically a mentor.  They may not be prepared, have the knowledge or have the experience to mentor someone.  That person is just sharing information about the company, business opportunity, products, programs and comp plan and they give an invitation to get on board.

 

A mentor on the other hand, is someone you might look up to because they have more experience, knowledge and certain success that you want to attain.  That mentor would be someone that could help you, train, coach and lead you lifting you up to greater success.

Living Life On Your Terms

 

Go up to anyone and ask them the question, are you living life on your terms.  You will be surprised how many people cannot answer that question, are confused or they realize they really aren’t living the life they want.  Have you asked yourself this question?

 

Decide to really make a decision of exactly what you want in life.  To have purpose and knowing what you want provides focus and clarity to follow your path and the lifestyle you want to have.
 

 

Far too many struggle each day not really knowing why.  While we battle our internal fears we forget about what it is we really want.  And when you have that confidence of where you are going, what you want it helps you to push through anything.  It provides you with courage to fight the forces of evil and stand up for who you are and what you do. 

 

Living life on your terms is personal freedom that I believe we all want but not sure just how to have complete freedom.  I hope my video message today inspires you to look within yourself, fight the forces of evil and decide exactly what you want and go for it.
